We had a great week this week. We are ALL so excited for Christmas.
We had so much fun finishing up our Happy Holiday theme. We loved making our picture frames for our parents and finishing up our gifts for Mom and Dad, we hope you love them.
Frosting sugar cookies was great, thanks to everyone that brought in supplies.
I think the highlight of this week was definitely having Santa visit our school and deliver our special gifts. I think all of our students thought this was really special.
I hope you all have a GREAT Christmas, I can't wait to see you all on Wednesday the 2nd of January.

Happy Holidays!
I can not believe Christmas is almost here! This week we did lots of fun things all around our holiday theme. It was super fun.
We made jingle bell necklaces, a Christmas gift for our parents (don't even ask, I won't tell you, it's a surprise), and our Holiday suncatcher. Just a reminder, we will be making a suncatcher for every holiday this year, so save your hook. If you need a new one, please let me know, but we will NOT send one home with each new suncatcher.
We also learned a lot this week, we counted to 80, learned the letter and sound of J, practiced the number 9, sorted, patterened, and added another sight word-He, to the other 10 that we have already learned.
Your children are doing such a great job taking on new information.
Next week we will be bringing home some other projects we have been working on and finishing up everything before our Holiday break. We will also be frosting and decorating our holiday cookies. If you are planning on sending cookies, frosting or other toppings (we DO NOT need sprinkles) for this project please have it to school no later than Monday. Thanks for your support.

Run, run as fast as you can, you can't catch me I'm the Gingerbread Man!
We had such a fun week. Our theme was gingerbread pals and we definitely loved bringing the theme to life.
We made lots of really cute gingerbread crafts, I think the favorite was the gingerbread notebook. We also learned lots of things; we used gingerbread pals to help us recognize our letters and match numbers to a gingerbread pal with dots on his tummy. We also patterned and sorted our gingerbread pals. We started counting by 10's and worked a lot rhyming and finding the rhyme in various words.
I think the highlight of the week was learning the story of The Little Gingerbread Boy. I almost had a heart attack when Miss Jen said she had never heard it, It was my favorite story as a child, my Grandma had it on tape (yes I am that old, who knows maybe it was an 8 track, I am even that old) and I would listen to it over and over. Anyway, we carried the theme over to our field trip where we acted the story out. It was soooooo cute.
We went to the Treehouse Museum for our field trip, we all had lots of fun stepping into our story.

We're Going on a Bear Hunt!
We had a great week! We learned all about bears; when they hibernate, what they eat and where they live. We also took our own bears on a bear hunt.
I can definitely tell that Christmas is right around the corner, there is more energy in our classroom than ever before. December is always such a fun month, but by the end of it I am always ready for it to be over.
This week we will learn about the letter I, number 7 and The Gingerbread Man.
We will also be going on a field trip to the Treehouse Museum on Thursday. Don't forget to return your envelopes by Tuesday.
We all miss Miss Jen and unfortunately her recovery is not coming as fast as she wanted. She will not return this week, but hopefully, she will be ready to come back next week. Again, if any of you would like to come in and volunteer, I would be happy to have you.
